2507 Duplex Steel (S32750) Overview

2507 Duplex Steel (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel with an austenite-ferrite duplex structure. It has high strength, excellent corrosion resistance and good welding performance. It is widely used in harsh environments such as chemical, petroleum, and marine engineering.

Implementation standards:

ASTM A240/ASME SA-240, ASTM A276, ASTM A182/ASME SA-182, ASTM A312/ASMES A312

Physical and mechanical properties

1. Physical properties: density 8.03g/cm³, melting point 1300-1390℃, non-magnetic, elastic modulus about 200GPa.

2. Mechanical properties:

Tensile strength ≥795MPa, yield strength ≥550MPa, elongation ≥15%;

Hardness ≤310 HB, -20℃ impact energy ≥78J.

3. Heat treatment: 1000-1052℃ insulation for 1-2 hours, then rapid air cooling or water cooling

Corrosion resistance

1. Advantageous environment: Excellent corrosion resistance to organic acids (formic acid, acetic acid) and inorganic acids containing chlorides (such as diluted hydrochloric acid), and outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.

2. Compared with other materials:

Better than 316L: can be used in diluted hydrochloric acid environment, while 316L is prone to local corrosion;

Better than 904L: Stronger resistance to dilute sulfuric acid containing chloride ions, while 904L is only suitable for pure sulfuric acid environment
