Key Features and Benefits

1. Corrosion Resistance

Hastelloy C-22 alloy is an all-around nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with better overall corrosion resistance than existing nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys such as Hastelloy C-276, C4 alloy and 625 alloy1. It has good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media, including wet chlorine, nitric acid or mixed acids of oxidizing acids containing chloride ions, and also has ideal resistance to reducing and oxidizing environments encountered in the process1. The high content of molybdenum and chromium makes the alloy resistant to chloride ion corrosion, and the tungsten element further improves its corrosion resistance. It is one of the only materials that can resist corrosion from moist chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions, and has excellent corrosion resistance to high-concentration chloride solutions (such as ferric chloride and cupric chloride).

2. Welding performance

Hastelloy C-22 alloy has the ability to resist the formation of grain boundary precipitation in the heat-affected zone of welding, which makes it suitable for many chemical process applications in the welding state, and has good welding performance.

Heat treatment process

The heat treatment process of Hastelloy C-22 is to keep it between 1150-1175℃ for 1-2 hours, and then quickly cool it with air or water
